In celebration of my 31st year of life I spent a weekend by the sea (one of my favorite places) relaxing and soaking up the sun. The weather was so perfect, and we had the most wonderful time.
We camped out for the weekend on Crystal Beach, which is found on the Bolivar Peninsula. In order to get there from Galveston Island, you have to take the ferry. If you’re looking for a more laid back beach experience than you’d get in Galveston, I highly recommend that you give Crystal Beach a try sometime.
TIP: In order to park your can on the beach in Bolivar, you now need a beach parking permit. You can purchase the sticker in just about any store found on the peninsula. The stickers are $10 and are good through the end of the year.
I also tried my hand at salt water fishing for the first time ever…and though I didn’t catch anything I really enjoyed the experience.
This trip was only my second ever visit to Crystal Beach, but it has really grown on me. I’m hoping to camp there several more times throughout the Summer.
Do you have a favorite Texas beach? Tell me about it in the comments. I’d love recommendations of others that we should try to see!
