Well, I’m happy to say that the folks at DWTS obviously knew fans of the show would want to get fit with dance, so now you can get the awesome Dancing With the Stars: Cardio Dance for Weight Loss DVD and dance to your hearts content.
After spending several days getting acquainted with this DVD, I can honestly say I like it better than other work-out DVD’s I’ve tried in the past. Kym Johnson and Mark Ballas lead you step by step through a Warm Up, then Samba, then Salsa, and finish up with Swing (so fun!) dance.
Rather than take on a boot camp attitude with their instruction, they keep the mood of the workout fun and upbeat…which really seemed to work for me as I followed along. Other workout DVD’s where the instructor uses tough love while you’re sweating it out always seem to discourage me…so this change of pace was a welcome one.
One thing I particularly like about this DVD is all the options it offers. You can watch the workouts with instructions, or once you know the moves, just watch them with only music in the background. You can do the whole DVD (52 minutes) for a nice solid workout, or you can just watch one or two of your favorite dance sections (15 minutes each dance) if you’re in a hurry.
The best thing is, even if you’ve never danced before…the workout is simple enough that you can catch on pretty quickly. The way it’s set up you don’t need a partner or a large space to dance in.
Overall, I really like Dancing With the Stars: Cardio Dance for Weight Loss because since it feels more like fun than exercise for me…I’ve been sticking with it.
